Last week the Illinois Municipal League hosted their annual conference in Chicago. Executive Director Lesli Melendy and Member Services Manager Susan Russell and it was great to see representatives from many of our Metro West municipalities. The IML hosted several educational breakout sessions on a wide range of municipal topics. One of the conference highlights included a general session with keynote speaker Kyle Carpenter, the youngest living Medal of Honor recipient. Kyle shared his story and spoke about perseverance, leadership and perspective. Next year’s conference will be September 18-20, 2025.
